Public test server

We offer a free public test server (public.mqttserver.eu) where everybody can test our MQTT broker. Be careful as other users can see the messages that you send to this server.

There are some limitations on the usage of this server. Retained messages will be deleted after some time. If you want to try a more reliable server, subscribe to get a (free) private MQTT server. 

 

MQTT clients

We recommend MQTT.fx as MQTT client to test your server. This client is written in Java and uses the Paho Eclipse library as backend. 

There are multiple online clients available (EMQX, HiveMQ,… ). But these are often only cappable of connecting to MQTT over websocket (port 8080 [non SSL] or 8081 [TSL]).

Lots of IOT devices are not secure. We try to encourage the use of encrypted MQTT traffic to avoid man-in-the-middle attacks. Therefore we only offer secured MQTT connections for our members. The public test does offer non-secured connections.

Yes, there is a free plan available! We do highly recommend a paid plan for production environments, as it is better secured.

If you would like to cancel your MQTT server, you can do so at any moment. Log in to your account and press ‘delete account’. No costs charged.
